For over 25 years, Caring Communities has provided HIV/STI prevention, testing, treatment, and case management services in north central and northeastern Pennsylvania. We currently serve 12 counties with office locations in Bloomsburg, Hawley, Hazleton, Towanda, and Wilkes-Barre. Caring Communities has seen a tremendous amount of growth in the last year. We have expanded our reproductive health care services and added a food bank providing fresh meats and produce, cleaning products, and hygiene supplies to clients in our North Central HIV Case Management program.
We also offer Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, a daily medication for individuals who are HIV-negative and looking to help lower their risk of acquiring HIV.
Caring Communities is committed to offering a welcoming, inclusive, judgement-free space for all clients seeking services, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
Additionally we employ bilingual staff in each of our programs in order to best serve the needs of our Spanish-speaking community.
Our goal is to achieve a region free of HIV/HCV/STI infections and stigmas throughout northeast and north central Pennsylvania and we want o make sure that our exceptional services and sexual healthcare is accessible to everyone who is in need, regardless of their access to transportation. We are deeply rooted in Pennsylvania's rural counties, and we understand that these landscapes inherently create barriers to healthcare. Caring Communities if now fundraising for a mobile clinic that will offer our full list of Case Management and Clinics services in order to break down those barriers. Over the next two years, we are looking to fundraise $100,000 to aid in the cost of our mobile clinic's construction and outfitting. Caring Communities is listening to our clients and their needs. With the same tenacity and perseverance that has allowed us to exponentially increase our accessibility, Caring Communities is determined to continue to grow and reach you where you are.
GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity, is on November 30, 2021. The following day, December 1, is World AIDS Day, a time to reflect upon the worldwide response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic since it began 40 years ago.
This GivingTuesday and World AIDS Day, please consider donating to Caring Communities as we work to eliminate HIV/AIDS infections and stigmas from our community.
